Market Harborough is lucky enough to have two Lions Clubs - the original, all male Club formed in 1974 and a more recently formed mixed gender Club Branch for younger members.
The original Club meets monthly on the first Tuesday at 8pm in The Angel Hotel, High Street Market Harborough.
The Club Branch meets monthly on the second Tuesday of the month also at The Angel Hotel High Street Market Harboorough at 8pm.
The Lions claim to be Ordinary People doing Amazing Things, raising funds and spending them on good causes - local, National and International.
As part of doing Amazing Things Lions:
-
Socialise and make new friends
-
Are members of a team giving of their time and raising money without shaking tins.
-
Ensure that efforts are rewarded by giving every pound raised directly to those most in need.
-
Help those in the local community.
-
Are members of a worldwide organisation with the strength to make a difference. For example Lions Internationally raised £2.75m towards redevelopment after the Tsunami.
